Located in the heart of the souk in Aley, Hotel Windsor was built by J. and W. Takla, and officially opened in 1924.
Tub with a View
Although still solid, Hotel Windsor is now but a shell of its former glory – its once-lavish fixtures and fittings a victim of the war and Syrian occupation – doors, frames, beams, metal – all long ago looted.
On an upper floor, a lone bathtub is the only reminder of what once might have been.
In its heyday, Hotel Windsor played host to many of the Arab world’s famous performers, guests came from near and far.
Rooms with a View
In it central location, Hotel Windsor enjoyed views of the Beirut, Sannine and beyond.
Stairway toHeaven
At one point in time, Hotel Windsor was indeed heavenly – its stairways leading to an open rooftop and unrivalled views.
